I'm not even sure any more. I took it for a long drive last night to try and figure out which wheel it was coming for. Prior to last night I was sure it was the front right but now it sounds like it could be the rear left or front left... I checked the back right and it looked okay.

I clamp the rear hose off and go or a carefull drive to diagnose problems like this but but with out proper brake hose clamps that will be difficult

Have you tried beveling the pads?



You can use a file and it must be done on both ends. Make sure to wear an air mask, the dust is not good for your lungs.

EBC pads are bevelled,they also have instructions on the box that you need to follow to stop them squealing. Pat

I use Bendix 4x4. They've been in 3 years now. Never had a problem.

Hi guys the only way to stop them squealing is to clean and lubricate the caliper where the pad is in contact with it. use a product like cera-tec, .Make sure you machine or change your discs. As far as pads go I run Mintex as a pommy pad for a pommy car works for me

I have not found a pad that will not squeal on the Defender outside the original LR pads.
Mintex were the worst and squealed on all corners from day 1 even with additional backing plates, anti squeal spray and goo.
Bendix were good for a while but have started squealing. I pulled off some anti squeal backing plates and doubled up on the front with anti squeal spray on the rotors and goo. Has been better but not eliminated altogether.
If you want to try Mintex I think I still have a full set in the shed, not sure if they have the backing plates though and are for a 110 if the same.
