I brought my three year old daughter to preschool in my daily driver 110, the other day. She was standing in the window with a friend waving bye.... While doing that, I saw her point to the 110 and tell her friend... "that's my daddy's defender".

Couldn't wipe the smile off my face for the rest of the day.

I don't think that would happen with anything else.

I have a new Defender in Bne and a Hilux in PNG, after coming back and hopping in the Hilux, my reaction was what is wrong with this POS, then I realized, no that's normal.

    So upgrade while you can
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

    D4 to 110

Went from a D3 to a 2006 110 and love it. Two very different cars though.... If you intend touring or going off road don't think there is no better car then a Defender (at least for me ;-)

Your going to find it very hard to get a non biased opinion on this forum. However this forum is probably the most brand specific unbiased forum in existence.

That being said i am biased so BUY the DEFENDER!

I have gone from getting a brand new Nissan 4x4 every couple years for the past 8 years to no more new cars. I bought a 1995 110 Defender. I wish i did it a long time ago. I will never waste money on a new averagely capable 4x4 ever again.

If you love the look of the defender then buy it because if you dont every time you pass one you will think gosh they are cool. Wish i bought one. But saying that if you dont buy it this time it will only be a matter of time until you do.

    Good luck.
    Michael.

Well I test drove a MY15 today and was pretty impressed.

It would have been better with extended seat rails but I knew that.

Has anyone fitted reverse camera & sensors?

    If so please enlighten.

Freeway car audio will do a double din alpine stereo/sat nav etc with rear camera, sensors & cruise control for about $3600.00.

How does cruise control work with a manual?

Was the traction control on the MY15 improved with the update of esc?

Thanks for the feedback to date.
    Cheers

    Brilliantly

Same as an auto, but with a cancel switch on the clutch as well as the brake.

If you climb hills with cruise on, and it can't hold speed, it will cancel itself before the revs get too low, as it can't gear down for you. However you'd have to be asleep at the wheel to not notice and take action before that happens.

Extended seat rails from Mulgo / Expedition Centre
Hema 7 GPS has provision for reversing camera
DSC is separate to TC and does not change it's function as far as I can tell
