Tell me your woe,s of owning 2013 2.2 DEFENDER

Mine from new , brake shudder 8000ks . 4 times it took them to fix it . Front stub axle put on cross threaded . Land rover full roof rack every joint in frame cranked and rusted one cross member completely broken off . As for living on a dirt road dust all thru cad suffocating you . Back passenger window falls down and definitely lets dust in . Rear door lock replaced and still makes bad noises opening . 40000KS on clock now . Did I get a lemon ??????????

Mine is a 2012 2.2, & apart from the turbo hose recall (& the melting mud flap), no issues - touch wood.

Land Rover didn't make the roof rack,it's an ARB most likely, every single vehicle I've ever driven on dirt roads let dust in,it's caused by the vacuum directly behind the rear door, run the A/C or get the wind deflectors trucks have fitted behind the cab that directs air around the rear of the vehicle, the rear lock has to positively lock or they rattle, they are adjustable to stop this, the tyre hanging off the door doesn't help, maybe invest in a wheel carrier. Forgot,if the door handles are set up wrong corrigations causes them to vibrate the window down, rotate the handle so when they vibrate down they wind the window up. Pat

One of these will help stop your rear door acting like a set of bellows. http://rijidijoffroad.bounce.com.au/...ual/4569741648

Go drive an older model on a dirt road. You may never complain about yours again. Haha.

Not a lemon by any means.

If the creaking noise my rear door makes when I swing it open ever goes away, I will be devastated.

Apart from that stub axle blunder and the shoddy roof rack accessory, it sounds like you have been blessed with some classic defender rattle n roll. If u don't love it, sell it.

How do you cross thread a stub axle?!

A good way (and apparenty little known) to eliminate excess dust ingress is to close all windows and set the "outside air" setting i.e. non recirculate. A/C doesn't need to be run.

My front wheel hubs have been replaced after the seals were replaced 3 times. I guess landrover have a process by which they need to know definitively, what the problem is so use the cheap fix to rule it out. 3 times may be wishful thinking though. Also had transfer case out and parts possibly replaced but I will never know the truth.
If thats a lemon, then it's my lemon and nobody else is having it.
