    Great article.

I will tell my wife that buying a Defender is an act of generosity for my 9 month old son. So far none of my other arguments have worked. In 18 years he will need it, along with the appropriately aged patina. Nothing to do with my own wants.

I can also put aside a few cases of wine I made, but perhaps I better start distilling whisky too.

    Quite interesting...
I have done 50,000km in one year in my "new" MY13 110 Puma....why "new" well the only thing new about it is the hump in the bonnet...the rest of the Defender looks like it is still designed 25 years ago....
As my mates have said " I did not know you could buy new lamps for a 1960 land rover"
I have had a few people ask how old Bluebell is...thinking it is in good nick for a 25 year old land rover....they are surprised that it is the latest model.
I have had my ex-Army mates ride in mine and they feel like we are back on exercise again, mind you the "new" Defender is much nicer to drive than my work vehicle, as they don't leak water through the canvas roof...quite funny wearing rain coats inside a vehicle to keep dry.

Then in 3014 the latest version of BBC "Time Team" will dig you up and declare it as a form of religious interment from the ancients so that the deceased would have transport to carry them over the dried up river Stix into Valhalla (they had Global Warming back in the early 21st century you know)!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I'll be doing the Viking Funeral in mine. Put me in the driver's seat, set it on fire and push it out into Moreton Bay. Unless I fix the door seals it won't go out very far though I suspect.

Fix the door seals and the beast will probably float all the way to Moreton Island and back again
