    Hi Humphrey,

All Defenders after 2007 are "Pumas" fitted with the Tdci engine in both 2.4 and 2.2 variants. Land Rover has steadily been developing the cars along the way with new features being added, so the question being what year yours is as you may or may not have actually answered the question...

I would imagine they all have the inertia switch though as limp mode and engine saving has been a feature for quite a few years now.

    Cheers,

    Lou

Hello, Season's greetings and all that. The 2.4 must have an inertia switch as my hazards have come on twice after hitting roadside flora and fauna- once when I hit a wallaroo very hard out at Quilpie and the other was a tree I slid into in the rain in the bush. It seems to be a heavy hit does it to mine as the wallaroo was a big solid thing and none of the other roos or wallabies i have cleaned up have set them off. The tree was a solid thing too. The Wallaroo was at 90 km/h and he really jolted where other kangas only thudded. The tree was at about 20 km/h but it hit solidly and off centre. It has only thrown the hazards on, nothing else like de-rating or power loss.
