Hence the reason I recently sold my almost unused 235's to a mate in the local Land Rover Club and got myself a set of 265 BFG A/T's.

The focus this year will be long distance touring and travel rather than weekend rock and rut climbing, so I'm in the process of changing the setup a bit.

A 235 is the same diameter as a 7.50 and both will fit on the same rim. If it comes to it you could even fit a 265 on the same rim.

I think I'd class the Cooper ST Max as more of an AT than a mud tyre

You "could", but I think a 265 would rub the rear coil turrets on a 110 with stock Defender rims. Okay on a 90. You need something with less offset. Wolf rims should be fine or most aftermarket 7" rims. Disco and RRC rims won't work.

I've been running 265s on the 90 for a few years for my winter and general purpose tyre as there was no good choice for a 255. Works fine and leave clearance for chains.

I was meaning as a stop gap measure. The post i was replying to was about touring in remote and regional areas where tyre availability may be limited.

That said, i have done all my recent touring on 285s and 255s

I think you'll find 235/85's are much more common in the bush than 265/75, it's what most everyone runs on their 79 Series or Patrol utes away from town.
You'll pick them up anywhere.

Having said that I'll keep using 255/85's....
