Maybe hook up a light or buzzer to the switch as well :-D

I should also highlight that the set up below has both running off the thermal controller (which you set by rotating the dial until you find the setting you want. Mine is now actually set up with one on the controller and 1 hooked up directly to the air con wire. I mounted the thermal controller on the passenger side engine bay guard so they are close and if required could easily swap back, so the only difference is that the wire goes to they air con wiring at the compressor. There is probably no reason if you are only fitting 1 fan that you could set it up to be active by temp and air conditioner. One other thing I forgot to ask is are you using it in front of the radiator / intercooler or behind the radiator to draw? I did originally have mine set up so would come on with just accessories on ignition, but was a PIA especially when sitting on a hot day with the radio on or parked up fishing etc and the fans continue running until the coolant where the sensor is cools. This can take a while as it is in the top hose and as not circulating takes ages to cool. I suppose if you can get a sensor into the radiator somewhere it may be more effective.
As said I have 2 fans in front of the radiator it is a tight fit but does fit in with some mods to the bonnet support struts.
    Cheers

I put the relays for the fans under the drivers seat in the box. The light relays are under the inspection plate on the front drivers side guard in the engine bay, I bought 2 x fans and 1 by thermo controller knob by Davies Craig came with relays etc.

Fan is behind the radiator and not behind the intercooler. I don't have air con so I don't need to worry about that. Also when you say put the sensor in the radiator, do you mean inside the actual unit or just between fins in the radiator. Do you know what kind of temp you want the fan coming on at?

Some radiators have spots to tap in a sensor thread. I dont think genuine land rover ones do however. The probe will need to be in the water / coolant. Most fit to the top radiator hose. From what you are saying you are having the fan set up to pull air through by mounting behind the radiator. Are you removing the clutch fan?
I elected to keep the clutch fan and put two in front of the radiator / inter cooler to push additional air through.
Mine is set to kick in around 86 deg c

I can't keep the viscous fan because it doesn't fit unfortunately. The guys at allisport said the fan behind will be more than enough to help cool.

Can you put the electric fan on the other side to free up space for the viscous fan?

Personally I would keep the viscous and put either a single or dual set up in front of the radiator.

IMO, DCcontrols makes the nicest off the shelf fan controllers. Controller selector Very well designed, fully waterproof.

    Craig,
I am curious, where do you tie into the ignition power with the switch (fan diagram, purple line from switch to ignition power)? I am looking for a good spot to tie into ignition power for a dash mounted switch.
    Cheers,

I just tied into a ignition powered wire behind the standard fuse box. I also have an additional fuse box as per the diagram.
