I spoke to Jason from Stork AWD (Dinitrol distributor here in Aus) last week, as I'm wanting to rustproof my brand new 90. He said he would need to ship a whole pallet of the stuff and that it's not financially viable due to not enough interest in rustproofing products here. I also asked Jason about importing it in and he said there's no issues there, he just doesn't want to do it as he doesn't want to try sell off a whole pallet!
I reckon if there's a enough interest here, we could put it forward to Jason and see if he can help us out. I'm happy to ask him about it if any of you want to put your interest down here.
I'm assuming the reason retailers in the UK can't ship here, is to due those products being classed as 'dangerous goods'. However, Fedex & DHL have a dangerous goods service, so I don't really know.
I'm also tempted to find out if a company like Dangerous Goods International, who specialises in transporting DGs and have offices here in Aus and UK, are able to help me out. But I would need to get someone like Rejel to sell the stuff to me first. Might have to make a phone call to the UK, as they did't reply to me email
I'll be getting my local spray painter, who does rustproofing (with sika products), to apply the Dinitrol, if I can get it!!! I'm wanting to use Dinitrol products, as it has such a good rep in the UK.
If that's not possible, I'll go for Bilt Hamber's Dynax products. Apparently, you'll need a few cans of each (4 or 5) if you want to do a whole defender. There's a thread on Defender2 where a guy stated he used 20 cans of the S50 $54 a can here in Aus!
$54 a can here in Aus!
