I put the trim clip in place on the window trim. There is a metal piece that holds it. I then put the tip of a flat screw driver into the clip and pushed the trim and screw driver together. Once the trim clip slots into place you can then push the trim on to the window surround and it will stay inplace.
Not very high tech but it was the only way I could get the clip to lock on to the holder.
