2000 Defender single cab Tail lights

Hi All, I want to put some better tail lights on my defender, it is just an cab chassis with an alloy tray. But I want some of the defender round lights. So I have found some on ebay but I am not sure of the mounting and if they are waterproof on the back of the light? Has anyone done this before?

    Thanks

If they are the ones like my 110wagon has they would be lucky to be dust proof let alone water tight.
Maybe the LED upgrade units are water tight but I can't confirm.
There are round truck LED lights that would do the job and be waterproof to keep the just off original look.
    Cheers, Kyle

Rvr110 posted a link here in November 2013 about all the options. I took a screen dump on my phone but am unable to load it here until I change the security settings. But am sure if you contact RVR110 he will post again

The Wipac LED replacements are completely sealed, no dust or water can get in. It feels like you could just about stand on them too.

    WIPAC LED Lights

I bought a full set (front and back indicators, brake, position) of WIPAC LEDs from MPS Trading on Ebay. They are the exact same dimensions as the standard defender lights.

Here is his range of WIPAC LEDs:
ENGEL FRIDGE FREEZER, DEFENDER 90 110 items in MPS4x4STORE ENGEL FRIDGE LAND ROVER store on eBay!

The Gent's name is Simon, he was the cheapest I could find, timely postage. The lights are all nice and bright, and have decent diffusion so you can see the light from an angle (ie, don't have to be directly in line with the light to see the light emitted, which can be a problem with cheap LED lights).

One of the lights I received leaked and got water inside of it. Photo attached.
I emailed him about it after about 6 months (laziness on my part). Quick reply, sent me a replacement immediately at no charge, didn't require me to send him the light. Unfortunately the new light didn't arrive and it would seem that it got lost in the post. No problem, sent another, again free of charge.

    I would definitely recommend him.

In my opinion LEDs are the best option, water proof and dust proof, brighter, long lasting and maintenance free.

I used the RDX brand lights on my County and would never go back to lights with globes.

    Nice Murray.

Can you fit 3 of the larger NAS ones in?

I've been asked the same question a few times. I can't quite fit 3 NAS lights on the panel. I have held NAS lights in place, and in my opinion it looks a bit crowded, I prefer the combination in the picture.

Hi All, Thanks very much for your input, I do like the RDX even though they are a bit more expensive, but this will be a one off thing so should be ok. I will look at getting some from Ebay. Once again thanks for your input.
