Turbo bearing noise and clutch advice td5?

I got time to go to the fire shed today and check out properly out new to us Defender fire truck
All looks good except the clutch bite seems to be very high at least half way up the travel, how long has the clutch got left?
Then when I turned it off I heard a rumbling noise that continued for half a minute after, could this be the turbo with bad bearings? If so how important is it go get the turbo serviced, or can we wait a while? Any other thoughts on what else it might be?
Apart this all seems good. Here is a pic just before we moved over our 51 so we could squeeze the Defender in next to it, despite how it looks in the pic we did get them both in
    Thanks
    Chris

There's a centrifugal oil filter right next to the turbo that keeps spinning when you stop the motor for about 20-30 seconds.

As Blade74 says, the centri filter keeps spinning. Now sometimes an aftermarket filter of a certain brand is fitted and they are not balanced! This makes a grumbling noise as it drops below certian revs. As I found , took a bit of finding, think a post from some1 here poited me to it. When the filter is replaced just give it a spin before you bolt the top o n, shows up quite well if its wobbly.

When you replace the centrifugal filter, try and obtain a Mann-Hummel replacement.

I believe it can be louder when synthetic oil is used too. The newer oils weren't around when the TD5 was designed..
With regard to the clutch, there is an adjusting rod, try that & I'd suggest a bleed/ fluid replacement.

LandRover branded ones are also Mann-Hummel.

I would stick with LandRover filters or original manufacturer for all filters on the TD5. My opinion is that there are not aftermarket filters for any of them that are better than the factory spec filters. This is for the Air filter, both oil filters (full flow and centrifuge) and the fuel filter.

Err, the oils originally specced for the TD5 were full synthetics.

Has nothing to do with the oil,its the rotating filter itself not balanced, just like a unbalanced tyre/rim combo. And as rick said , the only oils ever speced for td5 are synthetic. And totally agree use only LR filters, I could not believe the difference in oil cleanliness at same kms between brands! Filters aint filters, it seems.
