Yep, Q421 is now listed on topix for Aussie Defenders within the VIN range.
There has been some talk of no recall as such - so best to contact your dealer - don't wait for them !
Cheers,
Pete
Hi all,
the affected pumas can now get the recall done as the dealers can now get the parts kit required--just ask them to order in, apparently takes about 3 hours to do. Mine is booked in for next week, and guess you will soon receive a letter re the recall.

I've just booked ours in for this recall, first workshop booking was a week away.
Having only had it 6 months I wasn't sure if Land Rover knew of the change of ownership even though it was from a dealer.
As Pete said, be proactive.
I emailed the service dept here in Hamilton, NZ.
After a bit of scratching around and asking for my engine number and then they confirmed it was "affected".
They have to order the bits from UK. The bits will take a couple of weeks to get here.
It will be good to get this done before the warranty runs out at the end of June.

I contacted my local dealer yesterday and asked about the pump issue. They had no idea about it even though I explained the situation. I booked my Defender in for a service in a month's time so before that I will follow up again as I don't want to have to go to the dealer twice. While the Defender has just turned 2 years old, it only has 12,000 km on it so if there is an issue with the pump, I hope it can survive a few more kilometres.
4 Wheeler, which Dealer?
Pickles.
I was at the Canberra dealer today to get the Gearbox to transfer case drive shaft replaced, as well as the rear axles and hubs, as there is lots of backlash noise.
The nice thing is that they will do the work under warranty even though the vehicle has never been back to the dealer for servicing.
Its OK...there is never such a thing as a ex-mechanic when you own a Defender.
They also mentioned the oil pump recall and will see if they can get the parts in while they do the other jobs.
The service adviser muppets at a dealership at Parramatta, have advised me that even though my VIN is one of the ones affected by the oil pump recall, that the recall is only for UK and European vehicles.
After hearing that the previous service adviser muppets had both left this dealership for others, I thought that I would give them a go.....
One young fella seems alright, although he apparently has come across from some jeep place, he appears to want to help with issues, he unfortunately has muppets above him that appear to advise him with bull**** to pass along to the customers.....
Apart from this young (formerly Jeep) fella, I have no trust in them, either the service adviser muppets, or their mechanics......
I'm interested in if anyone else has been advised that it is a UK & Euro only oil pump recall?
Regards,
Mike.
I asked my dealer west of Melb and they said they had not heard of it, the dealer at Albury has also stated that there were no recalls on my puma, even though mine is in the vin range. I need to take mine back to get the hose damage fixed so will talk to them then.
Lindsay.
Lennocks in Canberra confirmed mine earlier today and booked it in for Tuesday.
No arguments or questions.... they appeared to know all about it.
I guess I'll know for sure on Tuesday !
