Hey Ben, yeah the spare on the bonnet was great and apparently it was actually more aerodynamic too! ...bit difficult now with the bonnet bulge of the Puma, but perhaps this is even more aerodynamic. I like the bulge.

Hey Billy, mine came with a sun hatch too, I prob wouldn't have chosen it due to heat, but the vehicle was a great deal at the time. I've put an extra layer of 99%UV dark tint on it, made a huge difference, doesn't feel hot anymore. Nice to have it open for low speed roving, let's hot air out of course too

Black roof would be my choice. Easily looks the best. White roof makes them look old, which granted is a look some people prefer. I have a white roof on a Tdi and am seriously considering changing it to black just to be different (for a Tdi). Have a friend with a white Tdi who is planning the same move.

Heat difference would be negligible IMO. Defenders don't have any sloping glass and tend to stay cooler in warm weather anyway. A bit of black on the roof isn't going to turn it into a frying pan, at least not on the inside.

A white roof makes them look like a Land Rover.

Having the roof any other colour is as bad as having a Ferrari in some colour other than red.

    I've got a 90 Adventure on order so didn't have a choice!
I keep on seeing a grey 110 with a black roof knocking around Brisbane, every time I see it I think "wow", if it was me it would be grey and black. Now, if it was Keswick green I'd go for white and steel rims as this is the classic look! Your choice mate.

My wife was watching Postcards and Rebecca Judd said they were finishing the defender production and my wife foolishly told me of this and said it was now or never if I wanted a new one! Bless her good intentions
    No worries.
Rebecca Judd, Postcards/Defender?.....I'd have liked to have seen that episode,....when was it shown?
Been down your way a few times, we love Port Fairy/Griffith Island.

A white roof makes them look like an old Land Rover.

Black, Blue and Grey Ferraris look great. I've been put off white ones since seeing the Deputy Mayor of Auburn pimping around in his. I've also been put off Auburn, in fact Sydney as whole since then

So in summary, a black roof on a Defender is definitely the way to go, a white Ferrari should be avoided and Auburn should be bypassed.

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

    Its an order of class.

White roof = upper class landy

For brand new silver defender, get a matching roof and all will be sweet.

Get a black contrasting roof and it will be hard to justify year after year. Surely you will start to be irked by its pointless deviation. It might look good to you now, a brand new option in a show room but given some years of wear n tear you may just start to wonder why you ever thought it was a good idea to start with.

When they started out with white contrasting roofs they could at least argue it reflects the sun. Black roof on silver body, are you mental?

But hey, if you like vegimite, eat it!

    Thanks MrLandy.
Yes , same with me. Mine came with the hatch. I've been considering a reflective film for mine. It would make a big difference. I'll do it before the summer comes.
    Cheers Billy
    Cheers, Billy.
