I hardly ever sit at 100 in the td5 unless its nearly empty on petrol. lol it screams at that speed. I'm not sure what exact RPM it is thouogh as I dont have a gauge in it.
I was on a controlled burn yesterday with the new to us td5 fire truck. It got a LOT of attention all good and a few other members from other brigades wanted to have a drive of it.
One thing I noticed was how high it reved at 100km/h. It was well over 2,00rpm more like 2,750 or 2800rpm is this normal or has the truck been modified at some point?
Cheers
Chris

Given the 1.4 ratio in the defender LT230 I'm going to hazard a guess that that's about correct.
The 1.2 in the Discovery runs at about 2250 on stock tyres at 100

2530 rpm on stock tyres, or thereabouts.
Interestingly the landcruiser 70 v8 diesel does 2400rpm at 100km

Thanks guys,
The fire truck is correct then, it just seemed like it needed another gear. I loved driving it all the same

My six speed Defender Puma 2.4 is only doing 2000 rpm at 100 km/h in sixth.

Puma has 1:1211 transfer gears td5 has 1:1.4 that's what's going on 👍

My TD5 110 sits at about 2400rpm when cruising at 100km/h with 32" tyres.
