Re: elockers for the TDI diffs, somebody will be along with a list....that's if there is any.
I have ARB Front and Read air lockers.....they worked as they should with no issues.
Hi all
Just chasing some advice on what front diff to put in the tdi for e locker compatibility?
And any brands recommended for e lockers, front and rear?
Regards

No one would run an auto locker in the front of a full time 4wd.
And I think auto lockers are crap but that's just my opinion.
Harrop for E-lockers.
Ashcroft or ARB (in that order imho) for air operated

Thanks
Am thinking the Harrop
Have a auto in the rear, not a massive fan as you can't choose if its on or not, just locks in in low range central diff lock....
I've fitted many a Harrop Eaton e-locker to Jeeps over the years, they are tough and use a simple electro magnet design with only 2 wires that come out of the diff housing, no air lines, no pratting around, BUT...
Note that a E-Locker is not permanently locked, from a forward motion where the e-locker has been engaged, to moving into reverse the e-locker will momentarily disengage then re-engage as reverse motion is continued, and the same changing back to a forward motion.
So there is the potential that when stuck in mud or sand if you are doing the forward backward motion you will get the e-locker disengaging - re-engaging.
I'm doing a fit on a Defender TDCi shortly and am prolly going with a Ashcoft ATB for the rear and a e-locker for the front, depending on options available. Also pondering the Ashcroft ATB for the centre diff.
