Thanks mate ......you are a rock !
I now feel totally confident to do this

..........as we discussed ...I have had a few " professionals ' do work for me lately at big dollars and when I look at the quality of the work and the lazy options of drilling holes all over my truck that could have been avoided with a bit of thought and effort it really ****es me off .........so I'm happy to persevere here and do it my self and properly ......and if I stuff it up ..at least I know where the stuff up is and can go back and fix it

    Thanks again

So far so good .......I can see the clock connection ..... 3 wires ...red. Black and purple ......my radio only has red and black ......

Not sure how to connect to the clock .....looks to have a little black plug thing and a cable tie on it ........before I break anything ......do I just cut the cable tie and remove the clock "plug " ...............then how do I wire up to the clock ......

Hope I don't need to solder as its a bit tricky with the gear leaver holding me from pulling the switch box fully out ..........

The clock connector is in two parts, the terminal block and the cover -

    .

The cable tie on the back of the cover is to hold the 3 x cables together where they exit from the back of the cover.

    To dismantle the connector -

    Cut the cable tie

Push the terminal block out of the cover, using a small screwdriver in the hole on the RH side of the cover.

Once the terminal block is released, use the small screwdriver to press down on the terminal's locking tab, which can now be accessed through the 'window' above each terminal cavity.

The permanent live wire on the clock is the Purple/Brown trace wire.

The clock's Purple/Brown wire is 0.5mm? - which is rated for 10A - it's fed from F30 (10A) in the dash fuse box.

F30 is the same fuse used for the permanent live on the factory installed radio head unit.

Does your vehicle not have the 2 x 8-way ISO connectors (Grey and Brown) for fitting a head unit?

OK, from the 2013 Model Year onwards, Land Rover changed the 2 x 8-way ISO connectors for a proprietary connector, that looks like this -

The permanent live is in this connector on a Purple/Brown trace wire.

If you don't want to cut or splice into the Purple/Brown wire, there's an adaptor harness that plugs into this connector, available from Autoleads as part number PC2-117-4 -

Wire ........and attach the radio black wire to some where that connects to the chassis ...........or is there a black wire on this connector that I could splice into too .........?

Yes, there's an earth in that connector, on a Black wire.
