Thread: Mulgo X Box definitive fitting instructions

Couple of things that are not in the instructions:-

1. If you have a subwoofer, then you will have to cut a hole to feed the cables through.
2. I think the fusebox is better raised by 25mm, that way the wires dont bend that much. I used some square aluminium cust to size, and longer bolts.
3. The large rubber grommet doesnt fit very well, I think the hole in the bottom of the exbox is a little to small

I agree to the above having fitted an Exbox last weekend.

I to Raised the fuses by height of the step in the back and used longer bolts and spacers, not happy at all about bending the wires as the instructions said.

The instructions say leave the central, locking connector 'till later, then don't mention it again. I split it off the loom re-threaded through the grommet and reconnected back under the drivers seat.

One issue I have is that Im unable to remount the two fuel line braces under floor of the xbox on either side. There is no head on the bolts attached to the brackets with which to screw it into the xbox from under the car.
What did you fellers do to attach the brackets?

My bolts were fixed into the brackets.

They were a bit short, aznd had to press hard too hardfor my liking to get the thread started.
I would have preferred them to be longer but it ended up being easier to squish the box down then replace the bolts.

The other thing I did was trim about 3mm off the rubbery floor trim (near gear stick) to allow the 'nose' of the Ex-box to sit flusher to floor.

Thats exactly the issue Im having. As Im by myself, its next to imposible to get the thread started.
Might give the neighbour a call, as Im getting the vehicle ready for a trip to the Cape in May.

Can I ask why it was harder to replace the bolts. Are they an unusual kind or size?

The bolts are moulded into the brake hose bracket, so would be difficult to replace.
