I just parked mine across the street and locked it from behind the side gate. About 20 M.

Just send the details of your vehicle to JLR Australia at the following email:

    enquiries@landrovercustomers.com.au

They will send you your 4 digit EKA. I asked the dealer for months & was assured that Defenders do not have an EKA - but they do!

Is anyone else interested in getting one of these?
I was quoted 35 pounds shipping, and I'm happy to split that with others.

The fob and programming unit is 69 pounds.

Soooo then what then do I do with it. My truck developed a mystery all lights glow but a no starting show for a short period. It happened 3 times over a two to three week period. After many attempts of re glowing, and patience it would start again. It was months ago now and the problem has vanished, but I was stuck for half an hour each time. Be good to disable the passive immobiliser.

I undid the side vent in the dash to get better vision and guide the wire.

    All done took about 20mins.

    Thanks for the tips guys.
So Chenz where did you find this wire?
I just spent 1.5 hors pulling the dash cluster, radio console, ignition console and attacking the fuse box trying to find an orange and grey wire. Looks like my pile of **** has the typical defender 3 curse, that's 1 attempt down, not sure if I could be bothered with the other 2. I guess after 5 years of point blank keyless locking I'm questioning why bother with yet another defender mod to make it half normal.

Hi Jason, This is the best explanation I have found for using the EKA code to get going when if your key fob fails out bush. Also believe that a Nanocom can reset:

Land Rover EKA Code (Emergency Key Access) Code

I opened the fuse box and on the drivers side hard up against the plastic edge it was just poking out. I had to have a bit of a fiddle to get it out as it was only about 150mm long. I suppose I should have taken some photos but it was about to rain and I just wanted to get it done.

    Good luck
    Chenz

Programming defender fob with IID tool

I have two keys that are programmed for my 2106 defender
but only one lock unlock fob …which is also programmed and works with both keys

I purchased a new genuine landrover fob and am trying to program it using my IId gap tool
    ….but no luck

    I followed instructions as follows

plug in IId tool make sure all doors are closed and sit in car
I make sure I have the working fob in the car with me

I then turn on and off the ignition within 5 seconds
I then press and hold the unlock button on the new fob and hold it and press the lock button 3 times and then release both the unlock and lock button at the same time

the horn is supposed to sound but doesn’t

and the new fob doesn’t work after following this procedure

I have even put a new battery in the new fob ….just in case the one that came with it was flat

    but makes no difference

can anyone suggest what I’m doing wrong

my IId tool tells me that two keys are programmed for my car which is right as I have two keys that work as long as I have the working fob near them

the problem is with getting the new fob programmed to work

has anyone any advice as to what I’m doing wrong
