    Billet porn, theft proof (ish), beautifully made, and half the weight of the cast OEM gear.

    I fitted the Heater controller knobs and sliders, and rear door hinges today. I know one of the sliders is upside down, but a man can only pull his dash apart so many times in one life time. It can wait.

    Re the rear door hinges, I’m really happy with them, and I was very surprised (or not) to find a common issue of the lower OEM support hinge broken on my vehicle.

    You can’t tell till you remove the door or have a major failure, so I’m glad I swapped them out, and I’m really happy with the new look either way, and they’re maintenance free.

    Now to do the four door hinges, new door handles and the 6 stream, high pressure front windscreen washer unit.

    Love the heater controls, especially the twisty selectors. How much trouble was it to fit the double din fascia?

    Thanks Tikka;

    If you buy a quality Double Din facia unit, it’s easy. You can get them from Mud or TMD in the UK as well as others.

    I suggest you get the units with the adjustable top vents. The big issue to remember is that your new DD Stereo head unit will need to have no CD player as they can’t fit into the available space in the dash. CDs are so 2000s’ any way, or you can use a remote disc housing.

    Also, you need to pay particular care in cutting the console for the new housing to your left for the switches and gauge if you fit one. It’s easy to make a mess of this due to the webbing underneath the dash.

    I love mine though, and it really makes navigation and reverse camera use so much easier.

    Fitting the washer head will give you the perfect opportunity to fix the slider ... it's a dash out job

    re Ken's comment about the head unit sans CD player, you can heat the air feed pipes with a hair dryer and when malleable, push them into shape to make room for the rear of the head unit. if i recall, i had to bend or remove the metal brace too. all in all, a little massaging will get a conventional double din head unit with CD player into the space.

    What did you do to your Puma today?

    Full depth is only easy if the double din is “bottom based”

    If you use this style you will struggle

    Best solution is no CD (mechless)
