    Needs Moar UltraHook

    I run a Factor 55 flatlink.
One think to keep in mind is the width of the 'hook thingy' and what shackles it can accept. Some shackles fit, others are too small by a blonde-one.
Sometimes I miss the 'hook' part, other times I like the false sense of security that extra metal bits (AKA projectiles) bring to my winching operation.

I finally had a chance to fit my Rijidij Spare Wheel carrier to the 2.4 Puma 110 DCPU. I have had the wheel carrier boxed up in the hangar for well over 12 months and have been waiting for the opportunity to have my rear cross member repainted because Land Rover must have run out of paint just before my ute rolled out of Solihull. I had the rear cross member repainted a couple of weeks ago by Specialty Paint Repairs here in Orange and am really happy with their work.

Hayley and I arrived back from 2 weeks holiday this week so I took the chance to open the wheel carrier box and mount it once and for all. I allowed myself the entire day to get the job done but was pleasantly surprised to see it finished only an hour and a half after laying out the parts.

I must say that Murray of Rijidij has done a superb job in engineering the kit that he sent me over 12 months ago. I'll drop a link to his web page at the bottom of this post. The installation was a breeze thanks to the precise manufacturing that Murray has done. The fit is absolutely perfect and the quality of the carrier is awesome.

I just need to buy two more wheel nuts so that the wheel is properly mounted. I organised them this afternoon through Tony Lahey Land Rover here in Orange. Toney Lahey will then be able to retire once I pay for them.

I couldn't be happier with the fit.

Sorry about the poor photo but I couldn't wait to get the ute home and fit the Melvil and Moon wheel cover that they sent with the order of seat covers that I also bought 12 months ago. I'm happy as Larry now.

Murray's website can be found here. I very confidently recommend his wheel carriers. Home - Rijidij Off Road

Thanks Billy. Enjoy your week off! Thanks for your kind offer - but it's still a few weeks before the vehicle is landed.

Do you need the UltraHook for the 90 or the 90 for the hook?
What I like about that design is that it leaves no chance for the Shackle to slip sideways.
I've seen the aftermath of a shackle slipping sideways at 60 ton+. Glad I wasn't there when it happened, although I did set up the gear and I'd like to know how it happened.
    Cheers, Billy.

    It's a rather expensive ornament.
Very well made, but probably surplus to my requirments 'most of the time'.

And that's the way we like it.... Isn't it?

My sombrero fell off and I almost dropped my burrito when I saw the price. It's about double what a flatlink is!
Although it will pull the ladies, and the traffic will part in awe...

We're going to have to find you a couple of Gunbelts to complete the picture.
    Cheers, Billy.
