Had the Provent 200, BAS Hi-Flow intercooler and BAS hoses installed today. Paid for the hose clamps when I ordered the hoses, pretty disappointed they aren't better quality V-Band clamps but whatever. Will change later.

Ordered new Tyres Yokohama GEOLANDAR X-AT GO16 265/75/16

    As above;

‘I’ve ordered 4 new Yokohama Geolandar X-AT GO 16 265/75/16 aggressive all terrain tyres to replace my trusty Wrangler MTs’ which have served me very well, have 10,000 kms left easy but have become very noisy.

Im really looking forward to the experience of the Yokohama’s as I believe they’re a bit more aggressive than BFG KO2s, yet quieter.

    More to follow.

    Yokohama Geolander X-AT GO

    Wow:

    First impressions after 500kms.

1: QUIET Inside the vehicle is a totally different experience with just the V8 engine rumble now. I love it!

2: Balanced so easily at fitting, took almost no wheel weights.

3: The vehicle handles really well at both country roads and highway speeds, fine in the wet.

    4: Did I say QUIET?

I love them for their on road manners, I’m sure their off road ability will be just as impressive. Jeez they’re quiet.😉

    50s tech Pintle hook!

I’m taking the Defender to Canberra to pick up an ex ADF Haulmark PT1 750Kg trailer to use as my off road trailer (get weight out of the vehicle and make room) so had to source a Pintle hook. I managed to source one from the final year of production (2007) and minimal use.

Ive made up a NATO 12 pin to 7 pin wiring adaptor so I can get it home with lights.

This fixed Hayman Reece will get me out of trouble for towing on the highway until my NATO articulated Dixon Bate Pintle arrives from the Mother land. (I won’t take it off road before it arrives, I know about binding and the high risk of flipping my vehicle without the rotating Pintle as I operated these units in the military.) Trailer photos not of mine, but same model and condition.

Old School is some times best!

What did you do to your Puma today?

Swapped out the tired old rear shocks for a hoofing set of bilstein b6’s. The old ones were about as effective as a couple of bullworkers. I think I may have fractured a rib trying to compress the bilsteins to get them in though What did you do to your Puma today?. The car drives much nicer and it seems to clunk less. Will hopefully swap out the front shocks and steering damper over the next couple of days providing the Boss doesn’t have something “more important” for me to do What did you do to your Puma today?.

Fitted my NATO Dixon Bate Hitch.

The real deal hitch and my new trailer!
‘All fitted up. It’s great to have the correct gear, and who would have thought you could get so excited over a tow ball?

    HUD!

Due to my failing Instrument cluster (currently no Speedo or odometer and temperamental fuel gauge), I’ve researched and installed a GPS HUD as a work around, but I love it!

It’s actually great as It’s so much easier to read than your Speedo. I’ve become use to them in the Range Rover etc so until I manage to repair the instrument cluster in my Defender, this’ll do. I’m keeping track of kms travelled by a phone app either way.

I purchased another low km instrument cluster from the UK from a 2013 Defender (mines a 2012, just mile and km so I’ll swap faces if I use the cluster) and also have new wiring loom connectors arriving next week.

Due to me being in Tassie with no local instrument repair service that I know of, the need for the new cluster needing to be authorised by a Land Rover Tech (reading this Justin?) via their computer system, need to adjust the odometer to my current low new engine odometer AND the little issue of my cluster being modified with the automatic gear box gear shift display, this isn’t a simple swap and will result in the vehicle being off the road for some time while it gets sorted.

    Nothings simple!
