Optimil 6 jet washer unit and Stinger Heigh 10 facia and head unit

This is the difference in viewing area between my Alpine Double Din head unit and my new Stinger Heigh 10 unit. (If anyone wants a quality Alpine head unit and carbon look double din unit for $250 plus post just message me.)

I’ve the vehicle pulled apart after fitting my new Optimil 6 jet nozzle and upgraded washer pump, and assorted cabling, hose.

For those who plan to fit the Optimil unit, the larger hose routing sucks and no matter what I tried, I couldn’t fit the push connectors onto the jet fitting. I went and purchased an extension to the push fittings and it fixed that issue, SO save yourself pain and get a 6mm straight connector and a length of 6mm Polly pipe. It only needs 40mm if that. Jobs done.

Photos of the fitted stereo in a few days. 👍

What a mission fitting the BAS intercooler today. Hell of a job to be honest but I’m pretty average on the tools. The support struts were miles out from fitting and Pete suggested a workaround but I just removed them.

    First time Windscreen Repair

Well, I must admit that Im a little chuffed. I had two ‘bulls eye’ type stone chips, one on the Tiguan and the other on the Defender, thanks to FNQ roads. Supercheap sent an ad for their home windscreen repair kit, and I thought why not give it a go.

Im really happy with the result and might have saved some money off the insurance windscreen repair costs. Unfortunately I neglected to get ‘before’ shots, but believe me, I think that at least the Defenders chip would have ended in a new windshield. I even purchased a replacement windshield rubber seal to install as the one on the vehicle is 12 years old, but doesn’t leak.

The only issue I had was that you need either a UV light of to be able to get the vehicle into the sun to cure the repair, and I couldnt move the Defender due to no instrument cluster, but I had the garage opened up and the sun streaming so I think that did the job.

I strongly recommend you give it a go yourself, you might be surprised, and I’ll certainly be carrying the repair kit in the vehicle from now on.👍

It’s Alive!!! Stinger Haigh 10 Install.

WooHoo, I love it when things come together, now to connect the accessories such as GPS sensor, DAB antenna and the FM antenna, tidy it all up and button it up. I need to relocate my ARB air locker switches and the compressor from my cubby box to the new facia, which Im not looking forward to.

It’s pretty fast re reaction times and has a lot of functions, so Im more than happy with this mod.👍

Started on the Glohh fit up

    Before

    RHS fitted

Still working on the vehicle at the moment (Crib break update).

Will post more once finished / fully connected.

I’ve also gone for what they refer to as the “Modern” fitment as opposed to the “Classic” - you’ll see when it’s done What did you do to your Puma today?
