It unfortunately has no service history or receipts at all with it. It does however from the pictures look like its in immaculate condition.

Presuming the undercarriage and rest of the mechanics look like the pictures, what sort of price do you think this should be going for with no service history and such high K's?

Also, If I had the dealer take it to a local LR specialist to inspect it, do you think they would be able to give an honest evaluation on the condition and tell me if all the major repairs/maintenance had been done/kept on top of?? Or would it be a 50/50 on buying a nugget or a gem?

It seems like its in fairly good condition judging from the photos. However considering the kms almost to good to be true.

A LR without a service history is like diagnosing a sex worker without a blood test.......you dont know what the f....k is going on.

Also they mentioned its never seen dirt yet judging by the modifications its clearly been set up for some camping/touring. I dare say this vehicle has been touched up and heavily detailed to extract top dollar for a velhice which is currently comanding a decent selling price. The sweetest lemons are always the brightest. Just food for thought as it be a perfectly good car, id be hesitant is all.

For the record I sold Lara (a fully decked out Tombraider) for less than that!

As 1Nando and Tombie have said, this car has a swathe of off-road accessories fitted and I expect they got used despite it being now nicely polished up. I would definitely, definitely be getting this checked out by someone who knows TD5 Defenders intimately, as without a service history you are flying blind. That is way at the top end of what I would be paying too, especially without knowing how it has been treated/maintained.

HAHA! Brilliant.....I guess the only upside to this comparison is you get to have a good sniff around first without paying!

Yes, I think the price is high-ish....I presume its mainly dealer mark up, I'd be haggling for sure! What would be a more realistic price for it.....$25k?

Its about to be 14 years old. Id say 25-28 would be more realistic.

In saying that if you are considering a mid $30k vehicle then is there any reason why you are not considering a tdci puma?

Yes i know a tdci is more expensive, probably mid 40s and you'd have to look hard to land a bargain but it isnt 14 years old. 14 years for a defender is a decent amount of time, unseen corrosion and wear and tear mechanical issues are not worth 33k in my opinion.

There is a 2008 Defender currently going for $28.5K in Perth, so yes, I would definitely haggle!

$33K for a 2003 Defender with over 200,000km - sorry but that is way way way way way way too much.

For example, the one listed below is the same year, it has less km and is $13K cheaper.

Im really trying not to spend over $30, $25 would be ideal.....especially knowing I would have to pay for some repairs at some point over the next couple of years.
