Puma Blue smoke on start up

Hi guys, so I've got an 08 Puma which has a noticeable about of blue smoke on start up. Happens for around first five minutes and then runs fine. If I drive it in the first five mins I leave a smoke screen behind. Any ideas?

Blue smoke usually = burning oil.

On start means valve stem oil seals.

what oil are you running in the engine?

    IMHO....
*Change oil to a 5W40 SEMI SYNTHETIC (such as Penrite HPR DIESEL 5 5W40 semi synthetic)
*re-evaluate at the next oil change (10,000km)

P.S note... modern common rail diesel engines contrary to popular belief... the internal clearances are bigger to reduce internal engine friction to assist in meeting better emission standards.

    Daz
