Replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders on my Td5.

The 300Tdi is still waiting for me to replace the inside rear oil seals with corteco ones sitting on the work bench as the standard seals which are only 1k kms old dont seem to like the heavy duty drive shafts. Looking too hot this weekend for this job.
    Cheers

New Ctek 250S dual battery installed.
New rear brake calliper as it through a brake pad last weekend.
All new water/radiator hoses with a thousand new hose clamps.
New Ironman Foam cell pro shocks and damper.
    Seat rail extensions.
Pull out injectors for a service.

Replaced offside rear air lift bag, bag had perished (installed in 03) and both engine mounts on my TD5 . Engine mounts were date stamped 99. So would have been original fit. Both engine brackets were sitting on the outer rubber of the mount. Much less vibration now.

    • Installed Thumper battery just behind the left rear seat with an Intervolt DCDC charger
    • Installed GME XRS UHF CB - great unit
    • Mantec rear wheel carrier (installed by PCB Landrover)
    • LRA long range tank (installed by PCB Landrover)

Still more to do yet - will keep you posted.

Have you fitted the extended seat rails? Makes a huge difference. I couldn't drive ours for long without the extra room.
Also recommend the extended stays so the rear doors open further. Makes access much easier, as does the rear door stay.
These should all be standard, I reckon.

    New battery

Had to race down to Supercheap yesterday to get a new cranking battery for the 300 Tdi project vehicle which is as of today my daily runner (for a week or so at least) as the Puma suffered major gearbox problems yesterday on a trip back from the airport and is on a truck heading to Graeme Coopers' right now (- see the Puma thread if interested). So SWMBO is now driving the Td5 which is normally my daily runner...and me in the 300Tdi :-(
    Cheers

Hey TR, I needed to do that a couple of years ago, now my 300Tdi is my daily driver...love it. He’s jealous though because the Puma gets to go on all the big trips these days.
I’d like a 90 too but the budget and the driveway couldn’t cope with another!

Hi Zeros. The Puma is a shorty and we usually use it around the Hawkesbury (home) and use the others for big trips out west. However we did do a run up to Glen Innes/Moree/Narrabri/Coonamble in it after Easter and it ran very well... had the Td5 from new (MY1999) and it is the easiest to drive on and off road. She’s pulled plenty of black wattles out on the farm over the years.
    Cheers

i’ve never owned a Td5...my 98 Tdi has been so good. But I’d be very tempted if a good one showed up, they sound great. I must say though I’m loving the quietness of the puma for long trips. Tdi is still more fin to drive, but it’s loud and hot over a long journey.

Hope it’s just your adapter shaft on your puma, because once fixed you won’t need to worry.
    Cheers

I have owned a few other 300Tdi’s over the years including an ex Calvert expedition (1996) 130 ‘tucker truck’ which was brilliant and great for towing horse floats and carrying all the crap that you need with horses. Nothing wrong with them at all, but the Td5 has more power and can be chipped. Mine has mild chip and acceleration is quicker than the Puma :-). Love them all
