    defender130.

Hi all, recently I obtained a defender Td5 130. It needed a bit of lovin, Headlining, short shift, drivers seat repair, new radio, roof racks, light bar, spare wheel bracket, drivers seat repair and now the heater core leaked. I have bypassed the heater box and am waiting for new core. I have made a start on removing heater box but wont go further until core arrives. Cheers all.

Finished heater core, found out you do have to remover heater box. However I didn't remove any of the dash. Cut the lower nuts off and installed m6 rivnuts and new bolts.

Affordable? I need some for my ute. The old ones were all worn right through to the floor over about 30% of their surface area. Gone in the bin now.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I bought some recently around $130 plus shipping, so kinda steep for what they are but the do look pretty good.

I cant believe the prices of floor matts! I just bought some heavy duty ribbed rubber off the roll at the big green shed. Cut to fit. Going strong after 85,000kms. Looks ok too.

Nice...... My drivers mat has split through and now drops stuff through - also has a decent wear spot (98000kms old). not looking forward to replacing them.

    Turbo1.jpgTurbo2.jpg

Had KLR fit one of their Isuzu turbo kits . In deference to my ute's 620k kms, Brad agreed to a milder tune than their standard settings. Even so, I'm very pleased with the result. With the camper etc, the ute is 3tonnes plus and I'm usually down to 3rd and 70-80km/hr on a couple of hills heading back to Canberra but post turbo I'm easily doing 105 with more to come. It's also had the benefit of smoothing out the occasional clutch shudder I had when accelerating from a standstill and cleaned up the bit of exhaust smoke I had under load. Engine is smoother and quieter too.
