    Not happy Jan

I ordered five wheels from UK, the supplier used DHL. The order was around AU$1600. As per previous posts DHL called or sent email letting me know how much I would have to pay to have goods released. I was ok with the gov getting their cut but the DHL cut was a bit steep for collection of gov taxes.

The DHL fee is a scam , don't pay it .

Not sure what fee you are referring to. DHL charged me $20 plus $2 GST as a fee to do the importing of my Ashcroft order. Twenty bucks seems reasonable.

I've done 4 orders with Ashcroft over the last 12 months or so. Just paid for the item and courier (DHL) up front.... no extras along the way.

maybe I just got lucky.... or DHL are just inconsistent

    Cheers.

I had an order arrive yesterday and another today from Ashcroft via DHL, got it split to keep them under 1k, not that should matter these days but hoped it would keep it under the radar and it seemed to work.

Ashcroft were great, split the order and shipped them a day apart, no additional fees :-) posty just dropped the second one off.

I ordered 6 Zu wheels and nuts from island 4x4.

when I asked about a quote for shipping I asked he would split the shipment. He said that they had to any way as they were too heavy.

He also said the GST collection was BS and they weren't going to register and just understate everything.

first set of 3 arrived within 5 days. 2nd set, fedex held up and said I needed to give them a shipping invoice (island 4x4 didnt include any paperwork). I just made one up for $600 and they turned up the next day.

all up a bit over $1600 landed
