Recirculate does not seem to help a great deal. If I turn the aircon off for 5 mins and then back on it is cold again.

I will try to check the hose, its like blind surgery on an octupus in that engine bay. Will also look at the tap, but checked it a while back and it looked like it was closing.

It was regassed a couple of years back but it didnt help at that time

your evaporator is freezing up.

if you look you will see a small bulb that should be pressed to the ally fins in the core, if its worked more than about 2mm away from the core it wont sense properly and the AC will never cut out as the bit it controls will be sensing too warm and so will keep everything on max chill, once the evaporator starts to ice over it wont get the airflow and then the temp goes up because the ice is an insulator and is also blocking airflow.

Thank you. For someone technically challenged when it comes to pulling things apart, is it had to get to the bulb? And if it has worked away, can it just a case of pushing it back into place?

if youre lucky its a case of no, you just open up a few bits and bobs and then you can see it with a mirror on a stick and one of the little plastic bobs that holds it has come loose so you just sort of invent some twisty thing that would give an octopus a dislocated tentacle to push it back and then put a blob of 2 part epoxy on to hold it in place.

on the td5 defender it was easy, pull a vent and then have an 8 year old kid do it for you by reaching in through the vent.

I have the small child, a shame I have the puma not the td5!

I have a mirror on a stick, but so far my opening up of bits and bobs has been pretty basic, which ones would I be opening up for this one?
