Boost gauge would be low on my list.....same bracket as a taco.
I replaced sensor temp gauge with a mechanical temp gauge.....solved earthing issues
I also went with a digital EGT
I'm planning on getting
- EGT gauge and sensor
- Water tempgauge and sensor
- low coolant alarm.
Is a boost gauge of any real use / benefit?
Can anyone point me in the direction of the cheapest ebay seller (or similar) of GENUINE VDO gauges etc please?
(n.b. Not looking at EMS, TP2 etc - I will be getting electric VDO gauges)

Update your existing water temp gauge to a VDO mechanical. You will need the sender adapter as well.
Also remove the clock and put in a VDO tacho.
I also have a EGT plus a boost gauge.
I purchased all 4 gauges (and temp sender) from Otto Instruments in Brisbane. John who runs the joint, is a Defender driver and a member of the GCLRO. Not sure if he visits AULRO much any more.
A low coolant alarm is a must. The sensor screws into the bung on top of the radiator on the passenger side

A boost gauge is only really necessary if you intend to ‘play’ with tuning, otherwise they’re just for curiosity sake.

Super ModeratorAgain can anyone recommend a particular low coolant alarm?
I'd have a seperate temp guage so a simple light would be fine, and with a buzzer as well possibly even more useful.
Sometimes low tech is the best tech.

In my old 300 I just plonked a Jaycar float switch into the header tank
You can run them NO or NC quick 12V from ign switched live to the switch in NO setting to a buzzer in dash to earth
Float Switch | Jaycar Electronics
When level in header drops (which it does before it drops in the hoses) alarm goes bing.
I’ve been to lazy to put same into the TDCI
I keep intending / thinking of replacing the header tank with aluminium and installing a float switch
It’s on the list

The radiatror going in soon has plastic tanks - is that an issue for that type of alarm?
