TD5 Clutch Slave pushrod problem prevention!
Just about to replace slave after 20 years and master cyl at the same time, (I think I did master many moons ago, as I have recurring nightmares about the rear two bolt removals from the pedal box), so that must be why. So the interweb tells me the slave pushrod, with me being me, will most likely fall into the bell housing when I go to remove the slave creating a lot of mucking about and swearing to retrieve. It then goes on to describe all the ways to sleeve the rod to reinsert the clip etc... etc... Although this all sounds like a real fun time my various personality disorders preclude me from enjoying same. So, I'm thinking along the lines of pulling the slave and leaving the pushrod right where it is and then just bolting the slave back in place, almost like a normal car? So. Is there anyway as I remove the slave with gritted teeth and puckered sphincter that I can ensure the pushrod remains in its rightful place to avoid further financing of my therapists yacht??? Cheers
