I thought the same till last week. I entered the roof top carpark once and the roof rack clipped the overhead swing bar - so you can imagine how nervous I was when I left via the exit (and thankfully survived). That was over 12mths ago, until last week on my first return, when my good lady wife spotted a 3m height entry, so off we went.

As you enter northbound off Herring Rd, the buses do a 180 turn, and cars have a choice of 90deg right bend to go onto the rooftop, or nearly 180deg (just left of the bus lane). Down there is undercover and a small section outdoors - which is where the photo is.

Reverse 45deg parks are a dream. Clearly town planners in regional centres are a practical mob. White St, Peel St are easy peasy compared to city parking. Darn site cheaper too!

It helps that the streets out here are as wide as they are.

But on the other hand, have you ever had the displeasure of parking in Narrabri? 45 degree nose to kerb, it's a nightmare. You pretty much have to take a leap of faith reversing out, as there is zero visibility. It gets especially bad on pension day when the old ducks have a skinful at bingo, and mix up the loud pedal and the stop pedal... causing them to go scooting across the road in reverse at full speed.
