Headed south over the weekend to have a look around. Past 1500 kms on the clock now and loving every minute!
Oh, and I got to experience rain for the first time which was fun. A few drops of water on my right foot and I felt well and truly initiated.
No spacers, no rubbing and just adjusted steering stops a tad. No plans to lift it, she is brand new so I'm getting my monies worth out of stock suspension.
Only just fit in underground car parks anyways....
Highly recommend these Dick Cepeks, great tire and quiet for how aggressive they are
It just gets better from here on - around 2000km and it starts to drive better. I am up to 8000km and it really is a better car especially lower down the rev range i.e. in 3rd it will pull away much better after slowing down to go around a corner in the local streets.
As for the rain - learnt that lesson when I parked slightly down hill - love that splash as you open the door to get out - quite refreshing![]()
After some long overdue rain, we got the pressure washer out and found this shiny 90 under all the dead insects and dirt. Oh... and we took the roof rack off too for a bit.

MY13 Defender 90 LE "George"
The Badger!
Maybe if you are in an accident, it's not all that "matters"....
The tyres are an illegal fitment onto those rims.
Did you put them on yourself or did a tyre shop fit them?
The minimum rim width, as stated by the manufacturer themselves is a 7.5 inch rim.
Table showing rim width and fitment specifications is in the link posted below.

Edit, actually reading this thread and a few other ones in the Defender section, you're not the only one with illegal tyre fitment, the fella in the post immediately above this one also has the same tyre specs (but different brand) also on sawtooths... In his case the minimum rim width for the tyre fitment is a 7.5 inch manufacturer recommends an 8 inch width though...
A few of my 90's run much bigger than stock tyre/wheel combinations but are fully engineered and road legal.
Anyways, enough of my bitching,
I like the looks of your 90LE, looks very similar to mine, although I haven't yet fitted a raised air intake.
Just be careful of the front guards lower corners, they are very exposed by the raised angle of the front bar...
I have a similar tube bar from First Four, and badly crumpled both front guards and headlight surrounds, which was a very expensive fix.

Good recall Mike. When I first started using this site I was amazed at how helpful people were and their level of technical knowledge. Then after a few years I noticed a lot of "know alls" who just wanted to argue and prove they knew more than someone else on the thread.
Arguing about tyre size and legal/ illegal is like arguing about religion and politics and morals; as long as it's not hurting someone else, each to their own, eh?![]()
