BFG and MAXXIS also do 255/85. BFG/Coopers were a shade under $300 each and MAXXIS were about $260 from memory. MAXXIS prescribed 8" rim, the others were allowed a 6.5 or 7" rim.

I will probably get a set down the track.

and that's only the measuring rim width.
I think you'll find the allowable rim sizes are the same as BFG, 6.5"to 7.5"

About to fit a set of Bighorns after two sets of BFG's in that size.

Why the change away from BFG's? Cost? Just curious to see how the Bighorns go? Other factors?

that's interesting. A MAXXIS Big Horn brochure I have from a local tyre shop prescribes rim range of 7.5" to 9". And to correct the prices I indicated above - the price I noted on the brochure was $360 not $260.

and availability. My tyre bloke couldn't source BFG's as easily anymore thanks to transport changes. Maxxis are delivered several times a week.

Don't always believe a printed brochure.

The 255/85 isn't even in the the current TyreMax wholesale catalogue (less than a month old) due to "stuff ups"
