Well the checker plate went on the wing tops today. The more expensive, post-07, one that fits

There's another key difference the installation uses rivnuts in the wings instead of a backing washers and nyloc nuts. Logical reason when you look at the wing tops and consider "how the hell am I going to reach in there". Could be done but you'd have to move things.

I've got very good at fitting rivnuts with a bolt, nut and washer

...and yes pic's will follow, just can't be bothered at present to get the camera out.

    Bling

Well the last few weeks work is done with. Can't really see the checker plate in this but its there on top. Bar and winch went on last weekend. Traxide wiring kit and driving light kit followed this weekend.

The 2 dual relays for the headlights and spotlights are both behind the passenger side headlight. I also ran the spotlight switch wires back to the cabin via the grommet under the cubby, then back under the rubber around the gear levers and up into the dash. Couldn't be bothered with trying to force my way in via the firewall.

The winch control box will be moved to the driver's side wing top (under the blanking plate) or down inside the bull bar - I'm still undecided. Either way it won't stay where it presently is. I haven't got the cable to do it yet and as its a solid state controller I'm starting to favour the bullbar as its a shorter run. The wireless remote receiver for the winch will also go in behind the driver's side headlight.

Sorry about the picture quality, but I used the phone as the camera would have had to acclimatise before I could use it outside.

Well no pic's yet as I still have to fit it all but I now can add:
LR HD front springs - installed and really make a difference after the winch and bullbar went on.
Hannibal roof rack and awning - Sitting at the freight depot for me to pick up. Didn't leave work until late today
Checker plate for rear quarters and sills - picked this up last week when I flew out. That's another 24 holes to drill in the Puma

    Dullbird,

I noticed in your photos that you have those forward faceing vents on the right wing top. I was wondering what that was for?

    Thanks

They are the Hi-Force LRX vents. Not cheap, but look really good and should deflect the rain from the air intake vent to the blower. Probably also has a slight ram effect on airflow into the engine bay and the air intake for the blower.

They are about £50 in the UK and about $140 over here

Isnt the intake for the blower on the left hand side, the last photo by DB on page 4 showed one on the right hand side?

Yes the intake is on the left and normally the right side is a solid cover. The LRX vent's are a the same (just mirrored) on each side so that they can go on left and right hand drive. One thing I like about this is it gives a bit more air flow under the bonnet. I've been toying with getting a pair of these ever since I saw DB & MM's Puma in my front yard. Should have sneaked out in the middle of the night and ... but I think they might have noticed
