Mate I must be having an off day but can you elaborate why you cannot fit the snorkel before the chequer plate kit? I cannot see how the two can interfere, is it due to the fitting procedure of the new Mantec snorkel?

Seeing as this is the tdci accessory thread, can we get some photos posted of said accessories .. to give the rest of us something to drool over?

the snorkel stops you getting to some of the rivet holes in the chequer plate, other wise think it can be fitted.

Installed the UHF radio on the weekend. Main unit is under the cubby box which I raised by about 20mm.
There is already a hole under the cubby box for the aerial cable.

Make sure you have a rubber shim between the aerial bracket and the top of the grille panel. There's quite a bit of friction there when driving over rough roads so the exposed painted top will get worn. I used sticky-back black rubber, only 2-3mm thick or so.

From memory dm_td5 is getting an OEM chequer plate kit. They don't extend to the rear of the wingtop, it should not interfere getting to the rivet holes.

The pre-07 Defender OEM kit goes all the way to the back but the new kit stops short of the aerial .. as per Scallops' vehicle above.
