It looks like the G4 (LR OEM) are black anodised .. more of a matt black.

So chequer plate bonnet guards are for (short) people who like to climb on their vehicles to secure/retrieve items from the roof?
And here I was thinking they were just bling.
How are they attached, pop rivets? glue?

Oh, I see, they are screwed on. Shouldn't be to hard to attach a foamed rubber handrail and Stikon(Tm) coated non-slip steps to the same mounting points to satisfy various OHS legislative requirements.
It is also advisable for the vehicle to be in static motion with the handbrake applied before proceeding to demount from the forward bonnet position.
What happens to the paintwork underneath the bling plates?
I'd go unnaddorned steel that detaches for a hot plate like the grill on the old series landies. While the latter were good for a steak or chops, you wouldn't allow you to fry an egg on one. Or cook with anodized aluminium.

I have the genuine LR black wing tops and sill plates - they hold up well to use - ie - don't scratch easily. They also have a layer of foam like stuff on the back of them between the checker plate and the paint work.

I stood on mine plenty - played a little air guitar etc - no problems. As for weighing too much....

Scallops, are they anodised or powder coated? Can you possibly post some pics of the kit on your vehicle?

    Thanks,
    Henry
