    How do I tell? (Sorry to be a dimwit). They are matt though - not shiny. I have posted plenty of pics of my truck with them on but can take some specific shots of them tonight and post them up for you if you like.

    Edit - after googling powdercoating versus anodising - I'm confident to say the genuine checker plate is anodised. The black layer is very thich and unscratchable - well, if it does get scratched it is still black.

    From memory the standard (non black) chequer plate kit from Land Rover have always been anodised so you would think the same will apply for the black one. Some close up pics of the wings, sills and rear qtr panel will be great .. thanks Scallops.

    Paddock Spares in the UK sell a 3mm premium chequer plate kit in natural anodised or black. They don't specifically state that the aluminium is anodised but looking at the picture supplied it seems to be the case. The shape of the wings and sill panel looks very similar to the LR OEM'a, I would not be surprised if Paddock's buy them from the same supplier as Land Rover.



    Pricing as follows:

    Wingtops - 45BP
    Sills - 35BP
    Rear Qtr - 25BP

    PS - The sill plate also extends beneath and above the sill - the rear plate section extends beneath the rear edge. Plus, with the genuine kit you get two bumper foot plates - mine are on my ARB winch bar.

    Ditto as I want to make up the side pieces too. That foam would be handy and I suspect Clark Rubber or similar would have it.

    Dobbo put me down as a maybe for the wing tops for my Tdi. I've a suspicion that postage to me will be about $20-30
