    Greylandy,

Of course you could just pop down the road to Aluminium Engineering at Brookvale, as I think Ken may still have some hanging up there ready to go.

Then you just need to get them coated/annodised...and he could fix that for you as well!

Must admit I havent read the whole thread....

No-one in the UK sells 3mm Black Anodized. Plenty doing powder coated black but that doesnt stay tidy on working vehicles.

I bought the 3mm natural wingtops and bonnet from Rebel 4x4 and then had it anodized black. Put some 3mm rubber underneath and bolted it down on M4 Rivnuts and Stainless dome head bolts.

I also had to get a square bottomed counter sink bit so that the bolts sit level on the chequer plate.

Expensive way to do it but looks the dogs danglies!! Its also perfectly happy with a lard **** like me jumping up onto and off the roofrack via it with muddy boots.

    Regards,
    Jon

    It's like having inbuilt griddles.

Yes Black does get hot... However, under low sun, you get much less direct glare than you do with silver. Even better when you get a few months weathering on it.

Powder coating is much glossier so exaggerates the problem.

When the most reflective thing in front of the windscreen is the silver Defender, who cars if there's a little reflection of the wing tops

Actually I've found the guards are less reflective now with the checker plate on them

Judging by the rivets I'd guess they're Opposite Lock ones.

Watch your bonnet clearance on the back corners Chaser!
