It must be in the appraoch angle because I'm a big enough bloke and I've never been caught getting IN, once or twice getting out though!!

I think Land Rover has redesigned the door latch because I looked at the 2008 Defender's doors and it may not be so prone to snagging your pants anymore....

Can anyone post a picture of the offending door item?

Nope - I have the new Defender - and have been dacked, as Kelvin aptly puts it.

Mine has side steps . So I stand on the step when getting in and out. Seems to prevent "Dacking" Some times forget and get caught.

Been caught many times - it gets me by the belt loop. Luckily (?) it has only damaged my daks a couple of times and they weren't "going out" pants.

Re shutting the door striker on my seatbelt - I have been guilty of this. After the big prang when the car had been rebuilt due to the firewall damage I had to put it over the pits 2 days before leaving for my up north trip! Everything was going great considering what could have gone wrong and I was about to pass when the guy saw the knicks on the seatbelt. He aplologised and said it was an immediate fail - he had no room. he saw the "Landrover - Anything else is crap" sticker from AULRO and thought it was brilliant. he said if i raced away and replaced the straps and I showed him then he'd sign off without a new inspection.

I've never been caught getting out... just getting in... i do keep my wallet in my right rear pocket which would make it stick out further... and with the 3" lift and 33's i have to grab the steering wheel and yank myself up into it so that swinging motion along with the rest would help get me i'm sure

Okay enough talking about it... going down to clark rubber on saturday to see if i can find something i could put around the catcher. Will post pics once done and fingers crossed it works

If you can't work anything out with the catcher, try buying a length of rubber and tying it around your waist - it could become the Defender driving belt.
