Thanks thus far Guys

I have read that the Disco transfer case has higher hi ratio and same low ratio - so may keep my spare box from the 3.9 - as was rebuilt tempted to get lower low range is the disco box then install in the defender when get it

I have a ARB locker from a mid 90's PETROL disco - from what you are saying will go straight into the Defender front diff.
yes - not rear as the rear is different? Also presume ratios for oiler and 3.9 powered rovers the same?
same ratios 3.54. disco diff's are rover type the rear defer one is sailsbury, totally different to the rover type.

If I break the rear diff will a disco diffs bolt in as replacements (with flex coupling changed for rear the only mod?)
yes i think? but you dont want to do that, in rover terms its like swapping a 9'' for a holden banjo

Anyone with a defender cab chassis 110 for sale?
