Where did you purchase from and who did the install?

purchased it from a guy from ebay about 2 years ago....he was starting up as an importer for them....it was nothing flashy looking on the outside....although does have a removable face.

but it was $500 less than half of any other flip up on the market at the time so I was willing to take the risk. there is a pic of it further up.

been really happy with it and it survived all the corrugations of the bullman track..hence why I never brought an expensive model.
it has recently stopped working properly though.....everything works fin except the screen sometimes now doesn't retract...we are guessing that some dust from our trip has gotten in there....and we just haven't gotten around to having a look at it

Afraid it's a bit of a grave dig but rather than start a new thread,

I'm about to take delivery of a new 110 Crew-Cab and was thinking that rather than peer through the canopy or sitck my head out the window that a reversing camera might suit - then I thought that this may also help replace the RV mirror for on road driving and that with the relatively low cost of a second camera that a camera for reversing and a camera for driving would be useful.

Any ideas on leaglity and switching options - using the inbuilt switch (which I assume works off the reversing light feed) to switch between cameras would be ideal, this would require hooking into 12v that was always on when the ignition was on, somewhere in the vicinity of the camera or monitor.

Don't know about laws but mine has it's own switch. I often use it whle driving. I hae even learn't to kow wen they are to close via the camera.

Bought this reverse camera kit on line ....no wiring instructions came with it ??
............I know how to connect up to the camera ( already mounted ) ......but no idea about all the power wires . ....I wired the reverse light to power and plugged in the video cable but no works .....looks like I got to get power to the monitor some how

Ask the vendor for a wirong diagram. The last one I got was in Chinese. Asked for and received an English one within the hr
And yes, separate power required for the monitor.

I'd recon that 4 plugs into 1 and this powers the monitor, the spare white on 1 would be for a 2nd camera. Spare Reds 2 and 3 go to 12 V.

Thanks chaps .....so what are 2 and 3 for .......given they come from the video cable ......??
