    Reverse light wire location

Hello all, I'm new here, so please be nice to me :-)

I got myself an 85' 110 V8, and I have some issues with my reverse light. The light looks fine, the switch on top of the gearbox works fine, but the wires are missing

Can anyone tell me where they usually run from / to ? Where is the ignition switched one coming from (to the switch) ? Where underneath do they run to the back ? (drawings of course preferred )

Or where would you run the new wire from / through so it looks professional (RWC is due) and lasts ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Daniel

The wire is green white from memory and runs with the tail, brake and indicators to the rear inside the chassis down the right hand side. I am under her tomorrow and will have another look then. Mine has a dirty earth I am loking for run 13v at either end but not enough current to drive the lamp at the end.

Any chance you found the cable I am looking for ? I can see where it goes into the rail, but nowhere to be seen where it used to come out at the front.

What do you reckon ? Any chance to get a new lead into the rail or just put it on top and zip tie it ?

We are having a couple of small problems with our reverse light also (85 110 county) at the moment we have it wired up to a switch on the dash so you can flick it on when ever you want to reverse, but the problem is we never remember to turn it off afterwards
So are thinking maybe we should wire it up how it is meant to be, all you have to do is run i wire from the plug on the g'box to the reverse light, is this correct?
Maybe an earth in there somewhere?

    Thanks in advance..TIM.

Well the plug on the glove box would not be my first choice of a "switched" plus (ignition key) but it would do. Run from there to the switch in front of the gearstick (on top of the gearbox), from there to the reverse light, and finally to your choice of earth (maybe connect together with the black wires from the rear lights.)

The plug is a interesting idea, but I am sure there would be a more "official" and more "safe" spot to find the +12V.
