    New 130 single cab chassis

    Hi All
Does anyone know of any new 130 single cab chassis Defenders with the new puma engine been sold?

I would like to buy a used one in the new 12 months ie ex Govt if possible, but I haven't seen one yet anywhere. I rang 2 country dealers the other day and neither had sold one. I was hoping that the govt departments would be buying them. Does anyone know about this, or electricity companies?

I have a 2002 that has 158K on it now and I would like to upgrade while mine still has a resale. Even mine is rare I believe, I have never seen another one. I bought it ex Govt with 100K on the clock.

I don't want a cruiser but may have to get one if I cannot find a 130.

    Cheers Scott

Does your current 130 have the extended cab and laminated axle?

    Cheers

No it doesn't have the extended cab, not sure about the axel.
It has a LR bull bar, warn 9000 winch, obieco steel tray and tow bar.

your not going to get a used one with a puma engine......

the model variations have only been released for about 3 months....and I dont think people have even been receiving there orders yet!!

you will have to buy new

One dealer I rang had one in stock, was about $58,000 drive away with tray, bullbar etc. I am a farmer I cannot afford a new one. If I was rich and had money to waist I would probably buy a new cruiser instead, as they have better resale. I may have to keep the Defender a bit longer than I originally wanted to.

$58000 is the bloke off the streets price, surely a primary producer could get a better deal?

well I think your dreaming to be able to get one second hand I'm afraid like I said they have not long been released so I dare say you would be looking at a minimum 2 years for one of these to come on the second hand market.

it took around 8/9 months for the first puma 110 to come on the second hand market.....and a single cab 130 would be even rarer unless some big companies take them on like the mines etc which I doubt

I wouldn't have thought any Cruiser would have a better resale over a Defy either!

I would say that the first 130 single cabs that come onto the used market would be the 'release' cars that LR have.
Some would stay on the fleet for a while but there seems to be a few of them doing the rounds so I'm sure they won't keep them all.

They don't go for private sale though so keep hassling your dealer.
