    Rhino Roof Bars........

I've just fitted my rooftent to my homemade roofrack but it's about 100mm too high , so the annexe doesn't sit quite right

    A quick question or two.........

Does anybody know how high a rhino roof bar sits from the roof to the top of the bar ??

Does anybody know what weight they can take ?? Would two bars take an 80kg tent plus two people ??

I need a quick fix and thought these might work , anybody got two for sale

Don't know the answers to your questions but keep your eye out on ebay. I have bought a couple of sets and you should be able to pick up a pair of bars with the legs you need for under $100. They are about $360 a pair new.

Actually I can answer the height question. The Rhino Rack website says the Defender uses the RL210 legs. I just measured mine and from the bit that sits in the rain gutter to the top of the bar measures 255mm.

According to the Rhino Rack catalogue the "Heavy Duty" bars with gutter mounts are rated at 100Kg per pair of crossbars. The legs come in 110, 150, 210 and 280mm heights (gutter to underside of the bar). 10 and 20mm leg height spacers are also available.

Can anyone confirm if the 210mm height on the side legs of the rhino roof bar system is enough to clear the ribs on the outside of a 1985 110 roof?

I've measured mine and it "looks" ok but just want to be sure.
    Cheers

On my '85 County there is about a 5mm gap between the bottom of the roof bars and the ribs on the roof, when I had my tent bolted on they did look like they were sagging a bit.

I've used the 210mm legs also, it certainly looks neater than my homemade creation but I don't think the rhino system is as strong
