I'm still getting my head around someone wanting to make a Defender noisier

It must be an age thing.

Friday afternoon - a good reason to put the computer away, have a beer and ponder on the meaning of life - and a noisier Defender.

The turbo is your problem. It attenuates the exhaust sound quite a lot - throw it away and run straight through 2-1/2" copper tube from the manifold.

If it is still too quiet fit a nice megaphone at the outlet.
