    Speed restrictor on puma

I thought the aussie defenders didn't have a speed restrictor?

I found it when i was overtaking a truck and car with caravan yesterday on a rural road (110km/h), kicks in at between 135-140 km/h

For a start I'm amazed you can do over 110 with a caravan

If you don't mind me saying 135 is plenty any way in a large fridge. I'm more concerned about pulling power than top speed these days. Would it be torque limited with wind resistance etc at that rate of knots?

Apparantly the Puma is speed restricted depending on which country it is setup for.
The dealer is meant to set it up when they get it, so maybe yours is still set to the UK which is limited to 82mph (~131kmh (your speedo probably over-reads)).
It is only a software limit, so can be removed easily by a dealer or someone with the computer connection/software.
Throwing a chip in normally removes the limiter as well.

    Hey Guys,

What sort of top speed do you all get from your Australian spec Puma's.

135k's is all that I get. I always thought it was a speed limiter.

Should I have the dealer lift it to Australia standard, what ever that is ??

    Cheers

I haven't encountered it on mine - haven't gone that fast - but it is set at 137kph or 85mph from what I've been told. MLR informed me it was set on mine.
I understand it can also be removed from the vehicle map.
