Thread: Roothy's farewell DVD.

Love him or hate him,you can't deny he has been at the forefront of the keep Australia unlocked fight.I personally think Roothy is a bloody legend and he has inspired many to take the family and see this awesome country of ours.

To give up what would be the best job in the world making 4WD action DVD's,to focus on keep Australia unlocked speaks volumes about the man.The huge crowd that turned out at Land cruiser mountain park shows that people of all backgrounds and ages love the man.

The 2 DVD set features some very good footage of four wheel driving and the awesome people and the trucks they have built.The DVD also features some footage of "big red" getting pulled out by a Defender.Also a rare thing for 4WD action DVD's is there is 2 Discovery's in the feature section.

All in all a very good watch and a fitting send off to a true champion,good luck in all the things the future holds for you Roothy. So guys get down to the news agent and get your copy.

I have watched every DVD for the last few years, and for me, although I love watching them, IMHO, Roothy is now trying to "undo" what he is effectively responsible for.
His love and admiration of big lifts, big tyres and big horsepower is a fair part of the reason that tracks/area's are being locked down.
Whilst louts keep tearing up the bush and leaving they're rubbish laying around, we have no chance of stopping whats being done.

And before anyone decides to get into me about ripping up various tracks,,, yes I have, something I'm not very proud of, but then at that time, when it came to the bush,,, we were very uneducated.
Leading up to the "Tread Lightly" theme, as it, and other information/concerns came along, we took it all on board, respected the general view that came with that, and thus we behaved.
Private land,,, a whole different story which not everyone has access to I know. But rule's are rule's I guess, and we followed them with respect.

The general behavior of these big lifted rigs and they're drivers need to be stopped, but who really knows how to do that, who knows what the answer is??
The education has now been in place a long time, but no one seems to care. The reallity of locked gates is very real and belting us all in the face, but still they dont head the warnings.

You own up to having "torn up" tracks yourself, then bag people with "big lifts and tyres" hypocrisy much?

I've seen just as many little tyred stock vehicles tearing up the place, if not more, I've seen many members on this very forum having fun in the bush that could be construed as tearing up tracks...

Pull your head in, one in, all in.....none of us have a NEED to be there, all of us however WANT to be there, no hope when everybody is fighting each other, Nissan that, big tyre this, land rover that....pfft
