Thread: Post your birdlife shots

Great shots, love the second one, bokeh on the background really makes it stand out. Need to set up feeder in my new digs when we move in!

Had an old friend drop by today.



Flew right in sat on a chair and started chirping to me.

I paid a visit to the Bundaberg Botanic gardens to see if there were any new birds near the lake.
Oh well, there are 1000 plus Cattle Egrets nesting on the trees!! I guess that 50 or more nest per tree and in some cases more.
It is difficult to get a clear shot and the angle for the 300 mm lens is a bit high but I give it a go.
450mm + will be ideal lens.

I am still suprised on how good that lens is, even with a large crop! Love these birds (nd Herons), their plumage is beautiful.

Been back a two weeks from Norfolk Island. Unfortunately we had a heavy sea mist while we were there so photography is not at its best.


FAIRY TERNS / WHITE TERNS Mating - Yes, they mate in the air!! No nest ,they select a branch and just sit there.
Been told they have a pouch and the single egg sits in it.
Have a couple more somewhere of mum on her "nest" and and a young chick on a branch.
Will post them when located
