I was " hunting" today here in Blackmans Bay, Tasmania for Green rosellas to have in my portfolio.
The Green is endemic of Tasmania and at the present time there are plenty adults and juveniles around.
I have managed to capture a juvenile Green and a adult Eastern so I am happy.
I will look for an adult before returning home.
I used the Nikon d300s and the Nikon 70-300VR hand held.
    Program: manual, focal @ 300mm and aperture @ f/5.6

    Green Rosella
    Scientific name: Platycercus caledonicus
    Family: Psittacidae
    Order: Psittaciformes

    Eastern Rosella
    Scientific name: Platycercus eximius
    Family: Psittacidae
    Order: Psittaciformes

Smile Amazing what you pick-up later

Down at a friends place out from Denmark WA and didn't realise it at the time of taking the photo, there is a lizard/skink under the whitish slab in front of the wren. You can just see part of the head and eye.

Pale Headed rosellas are very timid and hard to get. Try to place a feeder and take a shot at not more than 8 meters of them.
