Nice expossed. The feathers are in a very good condition as well.
That lens is performing well for you![]()
Taken today, I followed him from tree to tree untill he was located on a low enough branch for the 240mm to reach. He even turned around for a pose on the other side

Nice Arthur, I particularly like the last one with wings spread.
I had a visitor at breakfast this morning.
300mm, f11, 1/320, ISO 400, Nikon D70, Nikkor 80~400 VR lens.
Female King Parrot
Very nice image Deano, the lens @ 300mm work very well.
Good feather details and sharp bill and eyes.
This Brahminy Kite- Haliastur indus
was a bit out of range for my 300mm lens, therefore is a bit soft and have not much feather details but the wings span is nice

Thanks Carlos, regarding the 300mm I am prepared to test it and do a report if you send it here for 6 or 8 weeks
For this shot I need 800mm or more so the 200-400 plus a X2 converter will be the cheaper option.
The 500 f/4 with a 1.7 converter would be ideal and not to heavy.![]()
Had the usual flock of King Parrots this morning, 8 females and 1 male. Also had a ring in, this Crested Pigeon. Have seen a few of them this year, not all that common here but common as muck everywhere else in the country.
Still playing with settings on the 80~400 VR and was pretty happy with this shot considering the weather was grey, overcast and miserable.
